The album presents more than two hundred works with lace of the 18th and 21st centuries: from the first samples of metal lace for a nobleman’s costume to contemporary interpretations of the crocheted art in the spirit of “gothic chic” and experimental designs by contemporary designers. The main accent in the album is made on the lace collection of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied and Folk Art, which has nearly 12,000 exhibits. Most of the works and archival materials are published for the first time.
